A Giving Spirit

The Ladies' Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday evening leagues traditionally have a pre-
Christmas potluck and gift exchange, but opted for a different activity this year to celebrate the season.  The leagues joined forces for a good cause, collecting much needed supplies and funds for the Naomi Family Resource Centre located in Winchester, serving the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry counties.

The Naomi House, as it's often called, provides safe, secure, confidential emergency shelter and support services to women 16 years and older, with or without children, who are victims of family violence in any form.  In addition to several baskets full of essentials, the small but formidable group of ladies also donated $140 to the Centre.  Well done!

Wine Fundraiser

Wow - what tremendous support from our MCC membership for this fundraising event!
Our second "top up" order from Stone Crop Acres Winery took us to 105 bottles - awesome!!  The winery couldn't have been more pleased to partner with MCC on this
initiative and wish to extend their gratitude for our support to their business.  Bottoms up!

Learn to Curl

In mid-November the LTC instructors - Wendy Casselman, Jim Casselman and Mike
Bonyun - offered a “refresher/practice session” for our last year LTC members and ran the sessions for two weeks. Everyone agreed this was a beneficial review and that it should be offered again next year for anyone interested. Currently , there are eight new curlers in the program who are doing well with the LTC curriculum. Our last session for 2020 was held on December 21st, the remainder of the program extending into January 2021 (subject to the lifting of the recent province-wide restrictions).
